DEATH is as natural as birth but it is celebrated a lot LESS. Yeah, we know… DEATH SUCKS and partially decade zombies are GROSS! But what really happens to this beautiful specimen of human meat after it dies is fascinating!
At the moment of death, what happens to your body? Let’s get into the gross details, shall we.
Once the person’s breathing stops, the cells in your body stops receiving oxygen, however, the cells continue to live generating CARBON DIOXIDE. Carbon dioxide is ACIDIC, when it builds up,it ruptures the sacks of the cells. These sacks contain enzyme that begin to digest the cells from the inside out.
This creates a fluid, rich in nutrients. After a week, those nutrients fuel an army of bacteria and fungi that further liquefy organs and muscles.
Microbes that attack a tissue produce a bewildering array of more than 400 chemicals and gases, which include FREON (the coolant found in refrigerators), BENZENE(a powerful component in gasoline), SULFUR (which gives off the smell of swamps and rotten eggs) and CARBON TETRACHLORIDE (which is use in fire extinguishers and dry cleaning until scientist discovered that it is HIGHLY TOXIC.
At this point there’s very little flesh left that’s consumed by…MAGGOTS and BEETLES. Insects that leave only BONES behind.
We can take some solace in the fact that all those nutrients and chemicals, even the DUST, provide vital substances that makes the soil fertile. That will help in sprouting plants and other new life after our lives have ended.
ASHES to ASHES, DUST to DUST.
