A Japanese fisherman was shocked after hauling in a colossal catch off the island of Hokkaido, near Eastern Russia. Although this kind of fish generally diet on crabs and molluscs, this one could open its mouth wide enough to gulp a human toddler.
Now that’s a catch!
Normally, this monstrous, alien-like eel measures about three feet long, but the monster caught by Mr Hirosihi was twice its normal length. The catch may also add substance to Japanese fishermen’s concerns over the effects the Fukushima nuclear accident is having on local fish populations.
According to reports, people have suspected that the scary-looking wolffish could have mutated in an inorganic manner after being exposed to radioactive radiation as a result of the Fukushima nuclear disaster, which took place during the 2011 Tsunami in Japan.
The earthquake which claimed the lives of 18, 500 people, was said to be as the largest nuclear disaster since the Chernobyl meltdown in 1986.
