When you think about Lady Gaga, you probably don’t envision a conservative nanny with an even more conservative haircut, right? However, that didn’t stop her from paying tribute to The Sound of Music at the 87th Academy Awards on Sunday.
Lady Gaga took the stage at the 2015 Academy Awards to mark the 50th anniversary of the beloved musical “Sound of Music” – and she definitely didn’t disappoint the audience.
Yes, you read that one right!
The hills were truly alive at the 2015 Oscars as Lady Gaga wowed everyone with her stellar performance of the ‘Sound of Music’. She nailed every tune, as her new diamond engagement ring sparkled under the lights. And Julie Andrews joined her on stage at the end of her performance. She was phenomenal!
Back then, we we’re used to seeing Gaga’s eccentric performances but this stripped-down moment was the one to be remembered. The pop singer came out in a gorgeous white gown with a flowing long hair to sing “The Hills Are Alive” and other classic tunes from the hit show.
She wowed the crowd so much that they all leapt to their feet after she held her last impressive note — not to mention that Julie Andrews joined her on stage amidst the applause to praise the singer’s amazing rendition.
I really put my heart into preparing it, and I’m really excited to entertain the nominees tonight,” Gaga said on the red carpet earlier Sunday night .
Seriously, who knew she could sing like that? So, this is what happens after you got engaged with your one true love, eh? Way to go GAGA!
