We’ve all read those signs and heard a bunch of stories about mobile phones causing fires at petrol stations. And this video is a concrete example for you not to dare use your phones whilst refueling.
The biker, wearing a white shirt, can be seen reaching for his mobile phone as he sits on his bike waiting for the attendant.
A moment after he places his mobile phone on the vehicle’s dash, the device explodes in a large fireball, covering him in flames and setting the front of the motorcycle alight.
Despite cheating death himself, the rider was quick to drag his burning vehicle away from the pumps successfully preventing the flames spreading any further. Seconds later the fire is out, with the shocked Indian motorcyclist appearing to have escaped the terrifying ordeal uninjured.
Due to the flames quickly being extinguished, the damage to both the petrol station and the rider’s vehicle also appears to be minimal. It will no doubt make the man hesitant to use his mobile in a petrol station in the future.
The Hyderabad City Police then released the footage with a warning: “Don’t use cell phones when you are at petrol pumps.”
